Weekend.

The weekend flew by. Unfortunately. I had a successful weekend. I ate healthy, enjoyed friends, laughed, and took some time to relax. After two weeks, I can finally see my ankles again!! This is such a positive. Right now I could really use all the positives I could possibly get. As hard as it is, I guess I will have to continue to eat the way I have during this cleanse.

Side note: For everyone who doesn't really know me but following this blog: I have lupus and kidney disease. My ankles, legs, and stomach have been swelling really bad recently. I've been trying to figure out what is causing it and I've narrowed it down to sugar and dairy.

I feel much better - better than I have in a really long time. I have been craving chocolate just because I know I can't have it. Note to self: must find a healthier chocolate option. I don't even really want it - not a huge chocolate fan. It is just in my mind.

I can't believe tomorrow is already day 9!! Nuts! I'm so happy with my success so far. I can't wait to see how I'll look and feel after 24 days.

Here's to another successful week!!! Starting out strong! As usual!

Day 4 and Day 5!

It's Thursday! It's Thursday! Wooooo! Almost the weekend!

I know it is technically Day 5 today but I'm going to tell you about my super fantastic Day 4. I had a personal training session and decided to get my measurements done. I mean I need to know how much I lose exactly after the 24 day challenge. I put my big girl panties on (and my NEON tennis shoes!!) and decided to get it over with. Success!!!! I've gained some weight back BUT my body fat has significantly decreased. Perhaps the Catalyst I'm taking?!! I started my journey October 11, 2011. I am determined to hit my overall goal by October 11, 2012. I will get there! No questions asked. I was put on bed rest from my doctor because I injured my hip. No cardio for me. :-( I'll continue to focus on my nutrition and be successful before October 11, 2012!

My current stats are:
Weight: 136.6
Body Fat: 26.55%
Waist: 33 inches
Hips: 37 inches
Thigh: 21.5 inches

I've lost 23.4lbs, 10.71% body fat, and 21 inches overall!! I also challenged a guy the other day to see who would be most successful after 24 days (yes, I mentioned AdvoCare and the 24 day challenge to him. I bet I'm more successful than he is!). I will win - I could use a car wash (that is what we wagered)!!!

That is all for now! Great day 4 and 5!!! I'm half way done with the cleanse! Yeahhhh!

Hardwork and determination pay off!! Always remember that!

Already Slackin :-/

Days 2 and 3 came and went in the blink of an eye. Sorry for not posting.

I woke up today and finally seen a decrease on the scale. This makes me happy - probably the happiest I have been in a while. Not only am I seeing that, I'm feeling good. I have more energy and my insides feel good!! I know it is only the fourth day (seriously, the fourth day already? I have only 20 more days!!! wooooo!!), but it is a good feeling to know it is working. Hard work does pay off!

Yesterday was completely exhausting. I almost Sparked three times! Can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Spark. Fruit Punch is sooo good. I could just drink that all day. Okay, probably not good but I sure could do it. I decided to make some green tea the other day. I've been drinking it like it's water (I mean technically it is). I love green tea. I get so bored with just water. Putting lemon in it just doesn't do it for me anymore either. Green tea also curbs my appetite. I don't have a problem going 3 hours in between each meal. I feel like I have been forgetting to eat too just because I'm not hungry. Not necessarily a good thing since you want to make sure you are eating every 3 hours. Today, I will focus more on eating every three hours!!!! And I promise to post tonight after my day!

I'll leave you with this for now....

Stay Motivated!

Stay Motivated!

These statements are very true!

You can do it!!
Believe in yourself!

:-) :-) :-) :-)

Day One!!!

Today was Day 1 of the 24 day challenge. Wow! 23 days to go! I totally got this!

My favorite part of the morning is always Spark. I absolutely love the taste of it. I decided to try the Citrus fiber drink this time around since I've been feeling a bit more bloated. Not going to lie, I hated it. I like the Peaches and Cream much better. I had to pretend it was a shot and well it went down just fine :-) I had the meal replacement shake for breakfast. I tried chocolate mocha. It was delicious. Highly recommended.

My wonderful mentor, Angie, sent me a few documents that tell you when to eat and what to eat. I decided to try the eat all fruits and veggies today. I had my protein in the morning with my meal replacement shake. I was doing fine throughout the day until around 4pm. I had no energy. I honestly felt like I got hit by a train. I knew I needed some sort of protein and fat. I opted for almond butter and rice cakes. After that, I felt wonderful. I Sparked again in the afternoon and stuck with just veggies and fruit for dinner. The rest of the cleanse/continuing with the challenge, I plan to focus my meal plan around protein, veggies, and some fruit. I will have a small amount of complex carbs in the beginning of the day so that it doesn't weigh me down at night.

I will be successful.

I did try a new recipe, if you will, today. I was going through the papers and it said grapefruit would be great to eat. I like grapefruit but can't eat a lot of it. I decided to try broiling it and added Splenda and cinnamon. Oh my gosh, it was delicious!! I loved it. Can you eat too much grapefruit in one day? I sure hope not! :-)

Pre AdvoCare!!

A little bit about myself first...

I’ve struggled with weight for a good portion of my life. I was active as a teen but that shortly slowed once I left for college. In October of 2009, I was diagnosed with lupus. Although every doctor told me to stay active, I had the hardest time finding enough energy to do so. I began using lupus as an excuse on why I couldn’t workout and the weight began to pile on. In September of 2011, I had to see a new rheumatologist, who told me it was time to get serious, focus on myself, lose weight and get healthy. This opened my eyes and in October that same year, I finally found enough courage to step into a gym. This was the day that change my life forever. I signed up with a personal trainer. By far the best decision I've had to make in life. I've been working hard since then and have managed to lose 30 lbs and 7% body fat. I've found it hard to lose the last 10 lbs I need to reach my overall weight-loss goal. I believe the 24 day challenge is just what I need to help me conquer this goal. This blog is going to be my journal during this whole process. With the support of my amazing friends and family, a transformation will happen!! I'm determined to be successful!

Enjoy!
